In the broadcast charity official Denis Caillaux told the kidnappers that Mrs Hassan is an Iraqi citizen and asked them to release her immediately.

Mrs Hassan has lived in Iraq for 30 years and is married to an Iraqi.

On Friday a video of the aid worker was shown begging Tony Blair to withdraw British forces to save her life.

It's still not known which group has kidnapped the aid worker, as no one has admitted to holding her hostage.

A number of appeals have now been made from inside Iraq asking for Mrs Hassan to be freed unharmed.
