Last month, the International Court Of Justice said the wall was illegal. Now the UN's 191-nation General Assembly has voted to back that decision.

The General Assembly cannot force countries to act on its demands, but the issue could go to the UN's Security Council, which has more powers.

Israel is standing firm on the issue, describing the demand as "outrageous".

It says it needs the wall to stop Palestinian suicide bombers.

Opponents say the barrier, which juts into an area called the West Bank, is a ploy to seize land.
