Car bombs claim more Iraqi lives
Updated 27 June 2004, 11.45
There have been more explosions in Iraq
Two car bombs in Iraq have killed at least 23 people, continuing a week of violence that has killed more than 100.

Many of them were Iraqis working with security forces or with other groups helping coalition forces there.

Elsewhere in Iraq supporters of an al-Qaeda leader who have kidnappeed three Turkish workers threatened to kill them unless Turkish companies leave Iraq.

They also want people in Turkey to demonstrate there against George Bush, who is in Turkey for a meeting.

He's meeting with other members of Nato, an important group of countries who have agreed to help each other out when needed.

At the meeting Nato has agreed to help train the new solders who will be in the Iraqi army.

The UK and US want Nato troops in Iraq too, but some other countries don't want to get too involved.

It's a very important week in Iraq, as the current leaders of the country hand their power to a new group on Thursday.

At the moment a US man called Paul Bremer is in charge, but from Wednesday temporary Iraqi Prime Minister called Iyad Allawi takes over.
