The temporary president of Iraq has been named as Ghazi Yawer, head of the US-appointed Governing Council.
A United Nations spokesman also said Ibrahim Jaafari and Rowsch Shaways would be named vice-presidents.
An official announcement about the men will be made later on Tuesday. They will take power on 30 June, and run Iraq until elections in January 2005.
Mr Yawer, from the northern city of Mosul, is supported by many different religious and racial groups in Iraq.
