Anger after US hostage is killed
Updated 12 May 2004, 10.19
The family of killed hostage Nick Berg
The US has said it will capture the people who filmed themselves killing an American hostage in Iraq.

Some of that video has been shown on TV in the US and the UK, leaving many people angry and disgusted.

The man who was killed was engineer Nick Berg, 26, from Philadelphia. He was in Iraq to work on fixing communications equipment there.

The people who killed Berg say they did it to avenge the way some US troops have been treating Iraqi prisoners.

The CIA is now trying to work out if one of the men who killed Berg was an important member of al-Qaeda.

Friends of Berg's family say he was the kind of person who liked to help people, and that was why he had gone to Iraq.

His family say he was planning to travel back to the US at the end of March, but was arrested by Iraqi police before being handed over to the coalition.

He was later released without any charge but was kidnapped before he was able to leave Iraq.
