George Bush has promised that Saddam Hussein will get a fair trial.
The US President said the Iraqis would be involved at every step and that it would be the Iraqis who finally decided if he should face the death penalty.
"The Iraqis need to be involved," President Bush said. "There needs to be a public trial and I'm confident it will be done in a fair way."
So far Saddam has been refusing to talk to his interrogators since he was captured in Tikrit on Saturday.

Mr Bush added that problems in Iraq were not over, and that the US-led forces would carry on working hard for peace.
