US troops have stepped up the hunt for Saddam and his supporters since the former leader's sons Uday and Qusay were killed in a raid last week.
Up to five Iraqis died in a separate raid on Sunday.
But US officials said no gunshots were fired in this latest raid.
It came after another day of conflict in other parts of Iraq.
One US soldier died and three others were injured in a grenade attack in Baghdad.
One top US army official said Iraq continues to be a "war zone" but he added that troops will stay in the country "until the job is done".
