The Harry Potter author's won Spain's Prince of Asturias Concord Prize "for having helped children of all races and cultures to discover the joy of reading."
She was also praised for having encouraged kids to use their imagination and be creative.
As well as £35,000, JK gets a sculpture by famous Spanish artist Joan Miro from Prince Felipe of Asturias.
People can win the Concord for all sorts of reasons; previous winners include King Hussein of Jordan and famous violinist Yehudi Menuhin.
JK Rowling has sold more than 200 million books, which have been translated into 50 languages.
