As many as 250,000 people have been affected by the disaster, after the waters forced them to move out of their homes.
The Sri Lankan army are helping out
In some areas the currents are so bad that boats aren't any use in getting food and aid to the people.
In those places the Sri Lankan air force is flying over and dropping water and food to help.
Floods have destroyed houses, blocked roads and brought down power cables, and the country has appealed for international help to sort things out when the flood water has gone.
