The Amazon rainforest in Brazil is being destroyed much quicker than was thought.
New satellite pictures have shown that the speed the forest is being destroyed at increased by 40% between 2001 and 2002.
Lots of trees are being cut down for Soya farms
Most of the 25,000 square kilometres of forest that was cleared of trees was for farming.
The destruction of the forest had been falling, so the news that things are getting worse has worried environmentalists.
'Government not doing enough'
They say the increase in soya farming and a lack of action from the Brazilian government in using their own laws on environmental protection are to blame.
The government have said they are going to announce new proposals to do with the problem next week.
The Amazon is the largest rainforest in the world and is home to 30% of all animal and plant life on the planet, but in the last 15 years around 5% of it has been destroyed.
