  Nefertiti's mummy 'found in Egypt'

 A 3,300-year-old limestone bust of Queen Nefertiti
Scientists in Egypt reckon they may have discovered the mummy of Queen Nefertiti, one of the most famous figures of ancient Egypt.

The egyptologists believe that she is one of three mummies discovered in a secret chamber of a tomb in Egypt's Valley of the Kings in Luxor.

Lost tomb

The tomb was found in 1898, but the mummies were sealed up and apparently forgotten, until scientists drilled through to the room.


Clues

We might never know if this mummy is Nefertiti. Where she was buried has been a mystery for years and there's no way to do a DNA test.

One of the archeologists, Dr Joann Fletcher, spotted that the mummy had a wig similar to the ones worn while Nefertiti was alive.

Who was she?

Queen Nefertiti ruled Egypt from 1353-1336 BC along with her husband, Akhenaten.

Almost everything about her was destroyed after she died, because she tried to attempt to overthrow the Egyptian gods.
