He managed to crawl about 65 metres up a tunnel, and drilled through a door which had been sealed up for 4,000 years.

Great Pyramid of Cheops

But the crafty people who built the pyramid had built yet another door just behind it and Rover couldn't get through.

The robot may be allowed another bash at breaking through the second door, but it may not be for at least another year.

Rover went into the Great Pyramid of Cheops in Cairo, which is one of the three famous pyramids of Giza.

Pharaoh Khufu

They're a huge tourist attraction in Egypt and scientists had hoped to unlock some of their secrets with the live TV broadcast.

They'd hoped the secret chamber might contain valuable papers, tools or even a statue of Pharaoh Khufu, who built the pyramid.

But now we'll just have to wait and see what happens next.
