George Sims, 46, lost his memory after the World Trade Center towers collapsed and has been in a hospital ever since.

New York
We may never know how many people were killed

Almost 12 months later he remembered his birthday and enough of a special government ID number that everyone has.

That was enough information for the hospital to find his family.

Though he doesn't recognise them yet they hope his memory will return eventually.
