Dodgy chocs put 300 kids in hospital
Updated 28 February 2002, 11.58
Chocolate
Hundreds of children were rushed to hospital in the Philippines after they ate out-of-date chocolate.

Ambulances took the kids in for treatment after they started being sick, and having bad stomach pains, dehydration and diarrhoea.

Philippines map
Police have arrested four people who work at a nearby rubbish dump.

School

It's thought they found three boxes of out-of-date chocolate bars, and sold them to the children outside the local school in Davao.

The Austrian chocolate bars had a sell-by date of 1999.

The local medical centre was full up, but the children are being given medicine and slowly being sent home.
