As the American warplanes continue their campaign of air strikes, the lives of children across Afghanistan are being affected.
In the mountain region children hide away in caves as planes they fear will drop bombs fly overhead.
Other children are orphaned and living in refugee camps.
They sleep in tents and are desperate for food. Many say they don't know how they are going to cope with the freezing winter just weeks away.
Not enough aid
American food aid is being dropped in yellow bags packed with vegetarian food that Muslims can eat like beans, biscuits, bread, peanut butter and jam.
There's enough food in the bags to feed an adult for one day. But it's not reaching the people who really need it.
Much of the food is either being eaten by the soldiers or sold for a profit at markets.
Over seven million people need aid in this area but nothing like that amount is getting through.
