Stephen and Suzanne Roper moved 100 yards from the Staffordshire park's entrance 10 years before the first rollercoasters appeared there.
They have started a prosecution against the park's owners because they are sick of the racket made by thrill-seekers.
They say firework displays, concerts, discos and other events at the park have added to the problem.
"If you live within I would suggest a mile or any more of Alton Towers, your windows literally shake and if you go outside, the ground shakes," Mr Roper said.
They want the park to be issued with an order to cut the noise.
The evidence is still being heard and a decision is expected to be made shortly.
