A headmaster has bought safety goggles for children at his school so they can carry on playing conkers.
Shaun Halfpenny from Cummersdale Primary in Cumbria was worried the game would be banned by the council because of fears of eye injuries.
Pupils now take turns to wear the special glasses, similar to safety goggles used in science classes.
"The children asked to play conkers in school and I thought it would be really mean if I said no," said Mr Halfpenny.
