Man puts friendship up for sale
Updated 31 August 2004, 19.51
The winner will get a friend for a month
A man has put his friendship up for sale on an auction website.

Stuart Donald has promised to be a mate for a month to whoever bids the most money on eBay. And that could be extended - if they're willing to pay!

The winner will get two e-mails a week, two written letters, texts and the possibility of a shoulder to cry on.

Stuart, 23, said: "I thought it would be funny to put myself up." He's only had one bid so far - for 10 - but he's hoping that will increase.

Stuart, from Lumphanan in Aberdeenshire, said the idea started out when he was joking with friends about the crazy things which people put up for auction on eBay.

But joke or not, he's promised to see it through and will be a good pal to the highest bidder for four weeks, as eBay auctions are legally-binding contracts.
