		JK Rowling joins billionaire list

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has been named in an American list of the world's billionaires.

The list, published by the posh magazine Forbes, shows she has made $1bn. In Britain that works out as a whopping �530m.

Last year JK, who is now writing a sixth Harry Potter book, was named as the richest author in the world.

Microsoft boss Bill Gates was named as the world's richest man for the 10th year running with a $46bn fortune.

That is �24.7bn in English money.

Only six years ago, JK was a struggling single mum who found it hard to make ends meet.

Now she is ranked at number 552 out of a record number of 587 billionaires on the Forbes list.

The list is made up mainly of business tycoons including Roman Abramovich, who owns Chelsea football club.
