OOTP in line for adult book prize
Updated 14 January 2004, 13.58
Order of the Phoenix could win a big book prize
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has been nominated for best fiction in the WH Smith Book Awards.

Normally books for children aren't nominated in the fiction category, but a spokesman for WH Smith said it's more of an adult book than the first four.

JK has a good chance of winning, as the award is voted for by the public.

Other important books have also been nominated, including another kids' book, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time by Mark Haddon.

Fact File
Teen Choice nominees
The Amulet of Samarkand: Jonathan Stroud
Pirates!: Celia Rees
Predator's Gold: Philip Reeve
Stravaganza: City of Stars: Mary Hoffman
The Wee Free Men: Terry Pratchett

That won the Whitbread Best Novel prize, and could be named the Whitbread Book of the Year for 2003 on 27 January.

We'll find out if JK has won the 5,000 WH Smith prize when the winners are revealed on 16 March.
