The UK's top books are revealed
Updated 19 October 2003, 14.55
The Goblet of Fire is in the 21 best books
Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and His Dark Materials are all in the running to be named best book in the UK.

They're among the 21 books voted the best in the UK as part of giant survey called The Big Read.

Only one book per author is allowed in the 21, so Goblet of Fire has been chosen to represent Harry Potter.

Of the final 21, six are kids books with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Winnie the Pooh and The Wind in the Willows also on the list.

More adult books make up the other 15, although a lot of you will have read some of those books too.

Over the next seven weeks lots of celebs will explain why they think their fave book is best, and then the winner will be revealed on 13 December.

To find out how to vote, click on the The Big Read link on the right hand side.
