  Loch Ness marathon complete
Updated 09 October 2003, 17.58
Lloyd Scott at Loch Ness
Lloyd Scott has finished the first underwater marathon across Loch Ness in Scotland.

He took 12 days to walk 26 miles across the bottom of the lake wearing an antique diving suit to raise money for charity.

Previously Lloyd has done other marathons on land - in London and New York - in the same suit, which weighs 180lb.

He said it was far more difficult to walk underwater than on land.

"You don't know what's underfoot - sometimes it's mud, silt, rocks or nothing.

"It's also very cold and very lonely."

Although Lloyd didn't have any encounters with the infamous Loch Ness monster, he thought he had come close one day when he got his caught foot in an oil drum.

"I felt like something had grabbed my foot."

Lloyd's next fundraising stunt is to cycle across Australia on a penny farthing bicycle.
