Tapioca pudding is worst school dinner ever
Updated 06 August 2003, 07.31

Slimy pudding tapioca has been named as the UK's worst school dinner by a new survey.

Nicknamed frogspawn by loads of kids, it topped a poll carried out by the BBC Good Food magazine.

The adults they asked said the memories of the things they had to eat at school still influence the things they choose to eat now.

Fact File
Top 10 worst dinners
Tapioca
Cabbage
Overcooked veg
Lumpy mash
Lumpy custard
Liver
Semolina
Fatty meat
Blancmange
Beetroot
Your parents also came up with some interesting ways to avoid eating things they didn't like, like putting unwanted stuff on someone else's plate, or wrapping it in a hankie.

They also came up with some interesting nicknames for those hated foods, including calling custard "cat sick" and peas "bullets".

The top five fave foods were also asked for, and it was no surprise to see fish and chips top the list, ahead of yummy puddings, ice cream, sponge pudding, jam roly poly and jelly.
