Harry Potter and the Bad Translator
Updated 03 September 2003, 20.03

Illegal translations of Order of the Phoenix have been appearing since it came out, so it was only a matter of time before a pirate Spanish version appeared.

Potter fans in Venezuela might have expected a few mistakes in their dodgy version, but no-one thought it would be as bad as it is.

Harry and Hermione look shocked at the awful translation
Shocking

As well as shocking spelling and terrible grammar it actually includes the pirate's apologies for his awful translation!

At one point the book suddenly warns "Here comes something that I'm unable to translate, sorry."

He admits not knowing how to translate "breathy", and on one page the book reads, "You gave him 'the old one-two' (I'm sorry, I didn't understand what that meant)."

Two people were arrested last month and charged with producing the illegal books.

The official Spanish translation comes out in five months.
