Updated 17 July 2003, 07.22
Shevaun leaves a Manchester police station with her mum Joanna
Schoolgirl Shevaun Pennington has spent her first night back at home after going missing for four days.

Shevaun, 12, from Wigan, Greater Manchester, disappeared with ex-US Marine Toby Studabaker.

She'd met him on the internet a year ago.

Studabaker, 31, has now been arrested in Germany and is due in court later on Thursday.

Shevaun had a tearful reunion with her parents, Joanna and Stephen, and later her sister.

One step at a time

"I cannot tell you how relieved I am," her mum said.

Mrs Pennington said it would take them a long time to get back to normal as a family. "We will take it one step at a time," she said.

Shevaun's head teacher, Sue Crosdale, was delighted at the good news.

She said "she's a very bright girl and we're looking forward to having her back."
