School asks parents to pay for loo rolls
Updated 12 July 2003, 11.57
Toilet roll
Pupils at one school could soon be using loo rolls bought by their own parents.

The school is hard-up for cash and has asked the kids' parents to pay for their toilet paper.

This will give bosses at Ghyllgrove Infants School in Basildon, Essex, a bit more money to buy essentials like books.

The school's budget has been cut this year and they're going to lose two members of staff.

A school spokesman said it was "trying to save as much money as it can on small items so it has as much as possible to spend in the classroom".
