Tony Blair says Iraqi weapons will be found
Updated 10 July 2003, 17.24
The search is on for Iraq's most dangerous weapons
Tony Blair has again said he thinks proof that Saddam Hussein did have weapons of mass destruction in Iraq will be found.

A spokesman for the prime minister said he still expected to find information about how the weapons were made, as well as bits of the weapons themselves.

On Wednesday evening an unnamed senior person working for the government said they didn't believe any of the weapons would turn up.

Instead they said it was much more likely that documents or people who had worked on making the weapons would be found.

They believed that the weapons were there, but thought Saddam Hussein had either destroyed them or moved them before the war started.

Whether the weapons were there or not is very important.

Mr Blair told the public that the UK was going to war because Iraq had weapons of mass destruction and was able to use them.

Now more and more people are wondering if Iraq did have those weapons, and if they didn't have them, why were British troops sent to Iraq?

Others say the war was okay because Saddam Hussein treated his people very badly, so invading Iraq to stop him doing that was okay.
