  Sars spreading fast in Taiwan
Updated 22 May 2003, 14.27
School children in Taiwan are all wearing masks
Taiwan now has the fastest-growing outbreak of Sars in the world.

Sixty five new likely cases of the virus were found in just one day, health officials said.

And eight more people have died from Sars there, which takes their death toll to 60.

Travel warning

And there are 483 possible cases of people with the virus in Taiwan.

Sars is spreading faster in Taiwan than anywhere else
The World Health Organisation (WHO) said it's now telling people not to travel there because Sars is spreading so quickly.

This comes as Cambodia reported its first possible case of Sars, after a 16-year-old boy who'd been travelling in China came down with symptoms.

Back to school

But in China, where Sars is thought to have started, things are getting better.

Thousands of children have gone back to school after many of them were sent home for a month to control the spread of the disease.
