Lotto millionaire, 16, going back to school
Updated 01 July 2003, 14.47
Lotto winner Callie Rogers, 16
A 16-year-old who scooped £1.8 million on the National Lottery says her win will enable her to go back to school to take her GCSEs.

Callie Rogers, from Cumbria, left school in December.

She currently earns £3.60 an hour in a supermarket job.

Callie says she's going to take two years out to go travelling.

"I've never been abroad before, so I need to get my passport," she added.

After that, Callie says she's going back to school.

"I'd like to go and do my GCSEs and become a social worker," she said.

She's also intending to buy a house with her 25-year-old boyfriend, Gary.

Millionaire

"I just want a normal home - nothing posh. I just want a normal car as well," she said.

Callie reckons being a millionaire won't change her.

"I'm still going to shop in the same shops and do the same things," she said.

Callie lives with her foster parents, Sheila and Brian Holmes, in the town of Cockermouth.

She says she's going to buy Sheila, who's disabled, a new wheechair.

"Callie is just so thoughtful and generous," said Sheila.
