		Has Potter made boarding school cool?

The number of boys who go to boarding school has shot up for the first time in years - and Harry Potter could be the cause.

Most schools deny that's the reason, but many people suspect the boy wizard has something to do with it.

The books have become a phenomenon, selling more than 190 million copies all around the world.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry also looks pretty cool in the first two films, which have broken box office records everywhere.

Boy boarders rose in 2002 for the first time in 21 years, and the number of girl boarders did too.

However, there has been a sharp drop in pupils going to schools where parents have to pay huge fees each term.

Some of the most famous private boarding schools are places like Eton College, where Prince William and Prince Harry were sent.
