Kids get £57m cash top up
Updated 06 June 2003, 18.42
£57 million top up? Yes please!
Your parents are giving you an extra £57 million a week to top up your pocket money.

According to a survey for a bank, three out of four parents say they regularly hand over a few quid more than they should.
£5 more a week

That gives you an extra £261 a year - or an extra £5 a week - on average.

One in ten parents also admit they sometimes slip you money - without telling your other parent about it!

Spoilt parents?

Parents most likely to pay out extra money are the ones who were spoiled as kids.

But if your mum or dad were made to make their money last when they were kids it's not looking good - they're more likely to refuse to dip their hand in their pocket when your cash runs out.
