  School jumper journeys to Iraq
Updated 04 April 2003, 18.33

Children at a school in Wales had a pleasant surprise when they saw a picture of a boy in Iraq - wearing their school uniform!

Beaming out from the newspaper photo was an Iraqi boy with an aid package in the school sweater.

Nice surprise

Everyone at the in Ysgol Gynradd Bryn Y Mor school was amazed.

One pupil, nine-year-old Janie told Newsround: "I don't know how it got there, but I'm glad it has."

Sion, nine, added: "I was pleased because he looks so happy."

The uniform in Wales

The sweater was probably donated to a charity shop in a pile of lost property.

Ceri, who is also nine, thought it was a good thing.

"Kids out there must be very scared, but I'm glad charities are helping," he said.

The school is now setting up a fund to try and find its "lost pupil" and hopefully bring him over to Wales for a visit once the war has ended.
