The yo-yos are made of a squidgy ball with liquid in it, attached to a bit of plastic.

Many different companies sell these type of toys in shops, but they have lots of different names and are put in various types of packaging.

One company called H Grossman sells the Yukky Yo ball.

Could cause choking

It says its toy has been tested to make sure it's safe.

There's also a notice on the packaging telling kids not to swing it above their heads, because it could cause choking.

But Middlesborough Borough Council won't allow any of them to be sold in the area.

Off the shelves

It's even taken them from shops that continued to sell them.

Eight other kids around the country have had the plastic entangled around their necks when they were playing too.
