Bullied kids don't like telling teachers
Updated 25 March 2003, 11.39

Two out of three kids at secondary school say they're not happy telling a teacher if they're being bullied.

You're worried that teachers won't take what you say seriously, and some even think the bullying could get worse as a result.

According to a survey from ChildLine, pupils who are being bullied feel safer telling a parent or a brother or sister.

ChildLine say 20,000 children rang it in 2002 to say they were being bullied, and it's the biggest reason why kids ring them.

The charity says the results of the survey prove that schools need to take more notice of their pupils when they think up their anti-bullying rules.

In their survey of 1,000 schoolchildren, six out of 10 kids said they wanted to be more involved in making their school's rules to stop bullying.
