Hundreds of thousands protest against war
Updated 22 March 2003, 16.30
Thousands protested against war in London
Hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets across the UK to protest against military action in Iraq.

The biggest march was in central London, with a crowd of about 200,000 people, according to police.

The organisers said half a million took part, but the turnout was still a lot smaller than for the anti-war march in February.

There were loads of protests in other parts of the UK too.

Glasgow, Edinburgh, Brighton, Cardiff and Belfast were all among locations where people chose to have their say about the war.

One of the weirdest protests happened outside a US military base called Menwith Hill in Yorkshire.

There people draped themselves in tin foil in the hope that they would be able to disrupt communications at the base.

Similar sized protests have also happened in other countries around the world, including France, Germany, Bangladesh and Egypt.
