Lizo's reaction to the book five news
Updated 15 January 2003, 15.56

It's official: Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix will be released on Saturday 21 June 2003.

Newsround's own Lizo Mzimba, probably Harry Potter's biggest fan, was first with the news. Here's what he thinks about it.

The first thing I thought was: "Wow!" Everyone's been waiting three years for this book and it's coming out in the summer!

It's going to be so great to find out what happens to Harry next.

Definite date

I'm really glad as well that it's a firm date, so we know exactly how long there is to wait.

It's been a long wait since the Goblet of Fire

I'm pleased too, because there's been so much rubbish written about how the book has been delayed or postponed.

JK Rowling always said she didn't know how long it would take to write book five, and now I'm just really, really pleased she's finished it.

I can't wait to read it.

No warning

I had no inkling the announcement was going to come this week.

In the interview I did with JK at the end of last year, she said she was putting the finishing touches to the book, so I suspected this might happen soon.

You always hope, but I still had no idea.

I'm also really pleased that the book will be coming out in the summer, like the other four books. It's great that they're sticking to tradition.

I don't think I've learnt so much that I've spoiled this book for myself.

JK's left a few clues, but not many, and she's given tiny hints in interviews.

I think I'm in for just as much of a surprise as anyone else.

Someone recently asked me if I think JK will have changed things slightly in the new book after seeing the movies, but I know for a fact she started writing Order of the Phoenix before the first movie.

JK's always been one of those authors who has always known what's going to happen all the way through her books, so I don't reckon there will be any changes.

The author

No knows if JK will be doing any interviews in the run up to the book's release.

But let's face it, it's one book that really doesn't need any extra publicity!
