Updated 05 November 2002, 09.13

Children as young as 11 are going on regular drinking binges, according to the charity Alcohol Concern.

Their reports shows a quarter of 11 to 15-year-olds in the North East drink alcohol at least once a week.

In Yorkshire and the North West, the figure was about one in five but in London it was just 12 percent.

'Dangerous and stupid'

We asked you whether you thought kids drink too much and you got really rattled about it!

"Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with getting drunk. It's your choice and your responsibility. It's part of growing up!" reckons Joey, 14 from Eastbourne.

But Ceri from Monmouth disagrees:

"I think a lot of teenagers drink to look cool, and don't always think of the consequences. Someone I know got so drunk they were arrested. I think it's dangerous and stupid."

But 13-year-old Laura from Southampton points out: "Yes! But people are selling it to them when they are blatantly underage. Adults think it's entirely our fault. As usual!"
