The England and Manchester United hero and his wife Posh were shocked to hear of the plans to snatch her and demand a £5m ransom.

And now the couple have fitted new cameras and security gadgets at their mansion in Hertfordshire.

Beckham says his first responsibility as a father is to keep his family safe.

Undercover newspaper investigation

Several people were arrested on Saturday after an undercover newspaper reporter found out about an alleged plot to snatch Posh.

On Monday, five people were in court charged with theft of a jewelled turban from auctioneer's Sotheby's and conspiracy to rob one of the employees.

The charges have nothing to do with the supposed Beckham kidnap plot, but police are still looking into whether the men had anything to do with the plans.

It's not the first time the family's been threatened. In January 2000 police stopped another kidnap plot to snatch Victoria and Brooklyn.
