How would you like to cheer someone up in hospital?

An online writing competition launched by kids' author Jacqueline Wilson could be the answer.

Great Ormond Street Hospital are running the comp which offers a prize to the best child writer.

Anyone from six to 16 can enter and the theme is 'cheer up a child in hospital.'

You can write about your own hospital experiences or make something up about what's your ideal world; in fact write about anything!

Judges will include Jacqueline herself, Amber Spyglass author Philip Pullman, Danii Minogue and former Newsround presenter John Craven.

The competition's open till 14 January 2003
