Four out of 10 dads said they had problems talking about the birds and the bees with their kids, and some admitted to never having discussed sex with them at all.
Nearly half of the children who took part in the survey, said they'd brought the subject up with their parents rather than the other way round.
Many of the 244 parents questioned said they left sex education to the schools.
