Bottles for cash?
Instead of collecting logos and ringtones for your mobile, how about collecting empty fizzy drink bottles for money?

The government is thinking about bringing back an old bottle collection scheme to help the UK improve its recycling.

The scheme started 30 years ago
Only 3% soft drinks made in glass bottles now
Scheme still exists in lots of local shops in Scotland
Kids used to collect all around the neighbourhood
Making drinks locally made it easier to return bottles

Years ago, you could to get a few pence from shops for returning your empty soft drinks bottle.

But as more drinks were made in plastic bottles and cans, drinks producers lost interest in the scheme.

Bringing the idea back would mean you could get up to 20p for each bottle collected and returned.
