 Vote now: Should fox hunting be banned everywhere?

Because they aren't needed, mass destruction of the hunting hounds is something that could happen.

The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) told CBBC Newsround Online they'll be horrified if the dogs are put down.

It is hoped that some of the younger animals could be re-homed, as long as they have plenty of space to run about in.

But this couldn't happen for all the dogs because they are specially trained for hunting foxes, which doesn't make ideal family pet material.

Pest control

Some dogs could get homes with other hunts in England and Wales, but kennels might not want to take on extra dogs if the hunting ban happens there too.

The final option would be for the dogs to be used to be as pest controllers, but it's not known if there'd be enough jobs for all 800 hunting dogs.
