17-year-old Lisa Brown had to have both of her legs amputated after she developed meningitis in May.

'Private'

Someone wrote to the Beckhams on Lisa's behalf asking for help in paying for the expensive false limbs.

They decided to help and gave several thousand pounds towards the cost. But the Beckhams do not want to comment, saying it's a "private matter".

Lisa, an A-level student from Nottingham, is still receiving help in hospital.

World Cup party

The Beckhams have helped out other young people in the past.

David Beckham took young Kirsty Howard, who was born with a back-to-front heart, out onto Old Trafford before England's World Cup qualifier against Greece.

And the Beckhams threw a World Cup party and raised loads of money for the NSPCC.
