Girl resits exam after teacher cheats
Updated 13 May 2002, 13.32
Cheating in exams is on the increase by both pupils and teachers
An 11-year-old girl has told the BBC she may have to resit her SATs after her teacher helped her to cheat.

Speaking on 4x4 Reports, the girl said the teacher showed her which answers she'd written wrongly.

Some pupils use essay writing services that advertise on the internet

She said: "They were pointing and telling us the answers that were silly and we should write different answers."

The programme claims there's more pressure on teachers to cheat to help their pupils pass exams.

Pressure on teachers to cheat

One secondary school teacher - who can't be named - claimed her head told her to write pupil's essays.

She said they needed better results to get extra funding.

It's claimed there's even exam cheating going on in primary schools.

4x4 Reports: Marked for Life will be shown on BBC One, Monday 13 May at 7.30pm
