British plane-spotters found guilty in Greece
Updated 26 April 2002, 18.05
The plane spotters were found guilty
Eight of the 14 plane-spotters on trial in Greece have been found guilty of spying.

The remaining six of the group have been found guilty of helping them.

The eight found guilty of spying have been sentenced to three years in jail.

They will appeal

The plane-spotters had been taking photos of military aircraft in Greece
It's understood they will be able to go home to England while they try to fight against their sentence.

The group ended up in the dock after being arrested at an airshow in Greece last November.

They'd been taking pictures of military aircraft, which in Greece is not allowed.
