Updated 22 April 2002, 14.53
Damilola Taylor
The jury in the Damilola murder trial has retired to consider its verdicts.

Damilola, 10, bled to death from a thigh wound caused by a broken bottle on the North Peckham Estate, south London, in November 2000.

The prosecution say he was stabbed after being surrounded by a gang of young robbers.

Three month trial

But the defence claims Damilola could have been injured accidentally after falling on broken glass.

Two brothers aged 16 deny charges of murder and manslaughter, and assault with intent to rob.

The trial has lasted for three months.

The judge has asked the jury of four women and seven men to come to a unanimous decision - that's one on which they all agree.
