The Queen Mother has been laid to rest in the chapel alongside her husband, King George VI, and the ashes of her daughter Princess Margaret.

Thousands lined the route

After the funeral on Tuesday, senior members of the royal family held a private service for the Queen Mother at the chapel.

After the service Prince Charles flew to Scotland to spend time at Birkhall, which was the Queen Mother's private home near Balmoral.

Millions observed two-minute silence

Hundreds of thousands of people stood by the road after the funeral to watch the coffin being driven to Windsor, where the chapel is, and millions stopped to take part in a two-minute silence.
