Prayers have been said at Easter services in churches all over Britain and books of condolence have been opened after the death of the Queen Mother.

Private service for family

Flags are flying at half mast
Senior members of the Royal Family attended a private church service at Windsor Castle, while Prince Charles and his sons flew back early from their skiing holiday.

Before that her body will lie in state for three days at Westminster Abbey, where her funeral service will be held.

That means her body will be placed in a glass-topped coffin at the Abbey, allowing members of the public to walk past it and pay their respects.
