Teachers need more protection
Children who attack teachers could soon end up in court - if a teachers' organisation gets its way.

The union, the ATL, says more and more teachers are getting attacked by pupils and parents.

Children getting off

It thinks the children are going unpunished - so it wants local education authorities to take the children to court.

At the moment some legal experts say there often isn't enough evidence to punish children.

But the ATL thinks that by having a slightly different form of trial, called a private prosecution, children can go to court.
