The survey by the Guide Association also found girls aged eight to 15 are missing out on learning "life skills".

They say not enough of them have the skills to deal with money, communicate properly or care about others.

But some of the 400 girls questioned aren't worried. One girl said: "You can always use a credit card if you run out of money."

		Two out of 10 never talk to their families
		Less than one in 10 do charity work
		Only one in five cook at home

And you can forget about eggs.

"I burn everything but it doesn't matter," said another. "You just go to Tesco and buy those packets. Cooking for yourself is a waste of time."

You never know, maybe one day the Guide motto will read:

I promise that I will do my best:
To love my God,
To serve the Queen and my country,
To speak more to my family and
To learn to boil an egg!
